It was a clash of arms that would echo through the millennia a hard-fought conflict born of love, pride, greed and revenge; a decade-long siege of the ancient world's greatest city from which nobody will escape unscathed.
As urgent and passionate as if told for the first time, international besteller Colleen McCullough breathes life into legend, swinging our sympathies from Greece to Troy and back again as they move inexorably towards a fate not even the gods themselves can avert. Here are Greek princess Helen, sensuous and self-indulgent, who deserts a dull husband for the sake of the equally self-indulgent Trojan prince Paris; the haunted warrior Achilles; the heroically noble Hektor; the subtle and brilliant Odysseus; Priam, King of Troy, doomed to make the wrong decisions for the right reasons; and Agamemnon, King of Kings, who consents to the unspeakable to launch his thousand ships, incurring the terrifying wrath of his wife, Klytemnestra.
THE SONG OF TROY A legend reborn.

The Song of Troy edition by Colleen McCullough Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Love, love, love the classic story of the unbreakable Troy. This book tells the ancient tale with a twist; the action is narrated by the famous characters themselves. The book arrived in mint condition and was delivered faster than the estimated time. Truly a wonderful holiday experience.
I love this. All the same characters but story plays out different. Even if you have seen or heard or read other versions this one will be better.
It was a good read and an easy read. It was a difficult saga.to put into a modern story form and she did accomplish that. It just didn't measure up to, say, The First Man In Rome. I have. No regrets on purchasing this book.
I love Colleen McCullough's writing. It is instructive and entertaining.
The historical fiction of this author is so fantastic. I love to read about ancient times. Colleen McCullough is great writer and I am satisfied customer of the book about Troy. This book was unavailable in the libraries and I bought it from and so happy to have it now. Everyone can read the book who interested in ancient times about Rome and Greece, or who study such kind of material for the courses.
McCullough at all times is a superb writer. "Troy" is fascinating because it gives real life to the many fabled characters from the epics.I just wish she could have followed Odysseus and Aeneas to their old and new homes.
The incredibly productive polymath strikes again. This is a wonderful, fanciful recounting of the story of the Trojan War, with some very imaginative twists to make some of the myths more realistic. Her characterizations sometimes seem to border of caricatures (Menelaus and Patrocles, for example) but she sure knows how to spin a story without veering too far from the original sources and traditions. As a "dry run" for her later series on Rome, it seems a bit less of a mature work, but it's a great read and a good way to reintroduce yourself to the legends of Homer.
Written from the perspective of all of the major players (and a few minor) characters, this re-telling of the tale of Troy provides interesting perspectives on the war, the time period and the people of this dramatic episode in history.
